Life in the fast lane (or conference season)
Since my last blog post, I have been busy attending several conferences and courses... tis the season!
In January, I attended Agronomy Update, where I had the opportunity to hear several great presentations on current agronomic research and trends in Alberta. Next was Farmtech, where I was able to hear my mentor, Matt Hamill, speak on a panel of young farmers, along with several other great speakers. This event was also a great networking opportunity, as I caught up with Matt, as well as some other mentees in the program.
I have also attended parts one and two of the three part leadership course offered through AdvancingAg. In this course, I am learning about different personality types, and how to identify and collaborate with them in the workplace. I have tried to apply some of the skills in my own workplace, and look forward to the final session coming up in March.
In addition to these conferences, I’ve also been travelling a lot for training through my job (to Red Deer, Calgary and Saskatoon), so it’s been a hectic and busy winter!
